Additional Hotel Room Tax
Since late 2009, UBCM has been working with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture & the Arts to address the retention of the Additional Hotel Room Tax (AHRT). As part of the Premier's address at UBCM's 2010 Convention, it was confirmed that the AHRT program would continue after June 2011.The Ministry is now focusing on developing an enhanced accountability framework for the AHRT program and UBCM will be involved in this process.
