Mass Carcass Disposal Planning
Applications are no longer being accepted for this program.
The Farmed Animal Mass Carcass Disposal Emergency Planning Program was developed in 2007 with funding from the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands through the Investment Agriculture Foundation.
The purpose of the program is to provide local governments with funds to amend their emergency plans to deal with situations such as the Avian Flu outbreaks, as well as address dead stock arising from natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes. The funds are intended to establish emergency plans that allow for a timely and efficient disposal of dead stock to minimize the impact on human, environmental and farmed animal health.
